World Health Organization Acupuncture Statement

In 2003 the World Health Organization published a summary of the clinical research on acupuncture titled: Acupuncture: Review and Analysis of Reports on Controlled Clinical Trials

This publication concluded that acupuncture has been proven, through controlled trials, to be an effective treatment for the following diseases, symptoms or conditions:
