Herbology
An herbal consultation consists of an extensive interview followed by the preparation and administration of an herbal formula.  Mountain Sports Acupuncture offers three forms of herbal medicine, either bulk tea, granules or patent pills.  Traditional teas are made from 2-12 individual herbs, which have a more powerful healing effect than patent pills, and require daily to weekly preparation.  Granules are similar to traditional teas but do not require preparation beyond mixing them with hot water.  Patent pills are pre-made formulas, formed into small pills that offer both a cost-effective and ease of use alternative to the bulk tea or granules. An herbal consultation can be offered as an adjunctive service to an acupuncture or Tuina service, or it can be utilized as stand-alone therapy.  Herbal medicine has a rich history of powerful healing not only in China but also throughout the world; it is the primary form of healthcare worldwide.
